To the editor:
Scott Martin’s letter last week hit the ball out of the park. He was able to incorporate all of the Republican talking points. He called people names, invoked fear, guilt by association and even managed a sexist remark about his own VP candidate.
He was careful not to mention even one thing McCain/Palin would actually do if elected. He failed to mention that McCain’s campaign is staffed by former lobbyists of the financial sector or that McCain served as chairman of the Commerce Committee while Wall Street and investment banks went berserk.
We are all socialists now, and isn’t it interesting that it happened during a Republican administration?
The last 30 years, under Democratic and Republican administrations the financial sector has taken over the American economy.
Through questionable practices, a climate of deregulation, and the appointment of unqualified lackeys, the astronomical accumulation of debt, both private and public, is close to making us all paupers.
John McCain says he’s against regulation and then says he’s for regulation. Sarah Palin stopped the bridge to nowhere but took all the money anyway. Sarah’s witch hunting pastor laid his hands on her and made her governor, so we know for sure that she’s qualified to be our vice president.
We are in deep doo-doo people, and some serious change has to take place or America as we know it is in peril. John McCain talks reform, but he will still walk in the door with a cadre of Republicans.
These are the same Republicans that allowed the current administration to use the Constitution for toilet paper the last eight years. Change is not four more years of a Republican administration. Think about that before you pull the lever on Nov. 4.

Charles- You are guilty of the exact same tactics you accuse Mr. Martin of. You don't mention one thing that Obama would do if elected, but maybe thats because Obama himself has no idea. You also mention the former members of the finanical sector that are on McCains campaign staff, but fail to mention that Obama counts an executive of Fannie Mae as an adie. You know Fannie Mae, the company tax payers are billing out to the tune of billions of dollars. What about Obama's ties to Pastor Wright? William Ayers?
But at least Obama has a top notch V.P. pick in Biden, but it seems that he needs to take 7th grade American History again. Maybe then he'll know that Hoover, not FDR was the president during the 1929 stock market collapse.
It amazes me that you refer to republicans as using " the Constituion for toilet paper". It seems to be the republicans who are standing up for our freedoms, and trying to perserv the Constitution. The democrats just want to tell us when and where we can legal activities like smoke. (I am not a smoker) The democrats are the ones who want a huge governement to oversee everything imaginable and tax us in to oblivion. I hope people who read your post realize the lies that it's filled with. But, I would'nt expect anything less from a democrat.
